Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper!

That’s right… Charissa Cowart was Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper tonight… Kerel Cooper that is. Kerel is a huge New York Mets fan and his love for the Mets has turned him into a bigtime Mets blogger. He posts videos, recaps, and whole lot more on his blog OnTheBlack.com.

He stopped in at the Big League Wiffle Ball studios to chat with Charissa Cowart about the Mets, baseball, and a new kiddie wiffle ball field complete with a dunking booth! Kerel and Charissa both decided it would be a GREAT idea to not only get Nick, Jared, and the rest of the BLWB gang out to play wiffle ball with the kids, but to also get Nick and Jared IN the dunking booth!

Who do you think will be throwing the first pitch on that one? Watch the video to find out!

Nick was coerced into trying Pert Plus… why? Watch to find out. And finally, someone made a SPECIAL Appearance, he just couldn’t stand not being on the show… I’m sure you can guess who that was – Nick Benas :)

(Brian Burnell, NECN: Greenwich, CT) – It’s a wiffle ball field that’s become a political football in Greenwich, Connecticut. A group of teenagers decided to turn a vacant lot into their own version of Fenway Park. They scrounged plywood, bought paint, erected outfield walls, including their own version of the green monster, and shouted “play ball”.

Tim Bellantoni, Greenwich CT: “Our field is our field. I mean, anyone is welcome to play but just the best in my eyes.”

That’s the problem. A lot of people wanted to play. Things started to get out of hand.

This is very bucolic, very Norman Rockwell. But not always and not if you live in one of the houses who’s backyards border onto this whiffle ball field. Picture this. Last Sunday these kids tell me that had between 40 and 50 people here playing wiffle ball. That’s a little different than a couple of kids knocking it around.

Those neighbors have complained to the town so there is something of a split in Greenwich with some people siding with the homeowners and their right to enjoy their property and others siding with the kids and saying “let ‘em play”. In the middle is selectwoman Lin Lavery who says no one is saying these are bad kids.

Lin Lavery, Greenwich CT Selectwoman: I’ve gone over and met some of the kids and they’re great kids. They took leadership. They went off and did something creative. They’ve gone into the woods and created something and they’re to be applauded

The Big, Bad Zach Goodman!

He stands at a whopping 130 lbs and can hit one out of the park! Wiffleball that is… don’t expect the same from baseball and Zach Goodman. Goodman, of ManBearPig stopped by the Big League Wiffle Ball Skype studios to chat with Charissa Cowart about, Harry Potter, Golden Stick Wiffleball, Big League Wiffle Ball and a few other curve ball questions that I threw at him. Goodman was a good sport and hit this interview out of the park!
