The onus is on Jonas…

Jonas(es)…if you see this post we challenge you to a game. We happen to think that you aren’t terribly talented, when it comes to wiffle or music…so the challenge will really be yours. Really, Regis should have been choking on the wiffle ball after throwing a pitch like that. Granted you are 13 or 14 years old…somewhere in that range. Loser pays the winner’s choice of charity. We look forward to hearing from you! -Nick Benas & Jared Verrillo

Wiffle Ball: The Ultimate Guide

The long awaited Wiffle Ball: The Ultimate Guide has hit the shelves!!

Big League Wiffle is a huge fan. Right off the bat, we love the sexy, glossy raised cover…with a cool inner flap that acts as a bookmark. Not that we needed the bookmark because we tore through it in one sitting.

Very well done, on the whole. Great pics, great stories, helpful info. A lot of notable characters get some well deserved attention: Lou Levesque, Rob Piervinanzi, Mike Allesie, Mike Palinczar, Adam Trotta to name a few.

Naturally and deservedly, DOOM got a nice chunk of coverage. Well played.  No offense to Trotta and Togg, but I think Dallas’ role was down-played a bit.  Can’t really speak for other platforms, but Dallas is a force in the medium-pitch arena at BLWB.

Michael Hermann performed enough rigorous research to provide history and tidbits that BLWB hadn’t heard before.  Kudos, because we consider ourselves to be pretty well versed on the topic.

Another awesome inclusion: the league/tournament directory.  Extensive national listing of the best wiffle in the country. We’re proud to be listed along with GoldenStick, WiffleUp, NEWA, NJWA, HRL, FatBastard, etc.

One note: the section on pitch description is inaccurate, just like the description on the wiffle packaging. The curve and screwball should be swapped. Holes in for the screw, holes out for the curve. At least that’s the way we throw em.
Go grab a copy and let us know what you think.

We Salute you Ben Biddick & Cory Newmann

Ben and Cory

“The men and women who serve in our military have won for us every hour we live in freedom, sometimes at the expense of the very hours of the lifetimes they had hoped to live.-Alabama Governor Bob Riley

November 11th formally known to our great nation as Veterans Day. A day that reminds us that the Liberty Bell continues to ring, it is devoted to the appreciation for the men and women who serve our country and fight for our very freedom.

Veterans Day recognizes all members of the armed forces, the heroes of the great wars our country has faced, those who have died for our freedoms and the men and women who currently prepare to protect them.

Here at Big League Wiffle Ball, we want to thank you for your service also we would like to recognize two of our very own fellow wifflers who are currently stationed in Iraq. Ben Biddick and Cory Newmann are the Midwest Managers of Big League Wiffle Ball and do manage to find sometime to take out the yellow bat and play the wonderful game of Wiffle ball. Today is Veterans Day and we have Ben and Cory on our minds, and all others who make this day special.

Once again, we recognize you both for your service and dedication to protect the soil we live on, you are our guardians of freedom and justice and today we say Thank You.

The Big, Bad Zach Goodman!

He stands at a whopping 130 lbs and can hit one out of the park! Wiffleball that is… don’t expect the same from baseball and Zach Goodman. Goodman, of ManBearPig stopped by the Big League Wiffle Ball Skype studios to chat with Charissa Cowart about, Harry Potter, Golden Stick Wiffleball, Big League Wiffle Ball and a few other curve ball questions that I threw at him. Goodman was a good sport and hit this interview out of the park!

Spellman brings the “COOL” to Wiffle

Baring his tattoo sleeves and all dressed up in his tuxedo tee, Mark Spellman (aka Sparky) sat down with Charissa Cowart to talk about the style of wiffle ball. Spellman, GSWL co-founder, says wiffle ball has typically had a reputation for being nerdy and a sport for kids. Well, he set that record straight with his “too cool for you” attitude and talked about the new clothing lines debuting to help boost the fashion sense of wiffle ball. If you don’t believe me, take a look for yourself! He even managed to crack a few jokes… just a few.

The All-Time Famous WIFFMAN

Rob Piervinanzi (aka Wiffman), a 7-year veteran of wiffle ball, dropped by the Big League Wiffle Ball Show’s Skype studios to chat with Charissa Cowart about what else… Wiffle Ball! Wiffman is the Director of the NY Region for Golden Stick Wiffleball League and talked about the big Jamboree that’s just around the corner plus the future of wiffle ball, with or without the famous Wiffman.

Watch the video to find out what his favorite thing is about wiffle ball, how he got the name Wiffman and how HE describes Nick Benas and Jared Verrillo.
