Gabi Carrubba from American Idol to sing at HRG Wiffle Ball Tournament!
Hartford, CT – Get ready American Idol fans! Connecticut’s own Gabi Carrubba, an American Idol contestant on Season 11, will be preforming the National Anthem at the HRG First Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament! Gabi has emerged as one of the world’s most promising up and coming pop singers. She recently released her first two singles, “I Had A Boy” and “Something More” – that are available now via Digital Download. She had performed Billy Joel’s hit “New York State of Mind” on stage at the legendary BB Kings in New York City with Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot, also featuring Richie Cannata and Tommy Byrnes. For the past year, Gabi has been hard at work in the recording studio collaborating with the gifted Beau Badrick writing lyrics and laying down vocal tracks on her first two cuts.
Hartford Restaurant Group has joined together with the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research in their First Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament. The HRG Wiffle Ball Tournament will be held on June 23rd, 2012, in New Britain, CT. All ages are welcome to participate in this fun, family friendly outing. Food, drinks and beer will be served all day! All proceeds will be donated to benefit the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research.
“HRG is extremely excited to collaborate with the Jimmy V Foundation for this great event”, said Phil Barnett, one of the partners in Hartford Restaurant Group. “This is an amazing opportunity for us to support the foundation’s efforts in cancer research”, stated Mr. Barnett.
The V Foundation for Cancer Research was established in 1993 by ESPN and the late NC State basketball coach Jim Valvano. The V Foundation has raised more than $90 million for cancer research and awards 100 cents out of every dollar to cancer research and related programs.
