We recently repaired our temporary Wiffle field at Byram Park Picnic Area since Hurricane Sandy mangling it, and we are getting ready to host an opening event on site next Saturday, April 27th. The Homerun Derby is open from 10am-2pm, $10 for 10 outs, unlimited tries, all ages.
The event flier is attached. Friend “Greenwich Wiffle Ball” on Facebook for more upcoming events and up to date news about this year’s tournament, held Saturday, July 20th!
Hope to see you all there
This is a great throwback to 2001, with Billy Owens, one of the pioneers of competitive fast-pitch WIFFLE Ball. We need to bring back the days of print where you could walk to the end of the drive way and pick-up the newspaper. It would also be nice if the sport had its own magazine in hard copy…so every month you would have a nice little gift in the mailbox. I remember as a kid receiving Sports Illustrated for Kids, TAE KWON-Do Times, Thrasher and Transworld Skating Magazine. Nothing beats a good mag!
What will the future bring? Will we see copies of “Holes UP” & “RISER” appear in newsstands across America? Or maybe as digital content on a iPad or tablet?
Anyways, enjoy the article and remember what it was like to hold a newspaper in your hand with a cup of coffee.
