Big League WIFFLE Ball News

My name is Jimmy Flynn of the Norwood Mustangs. This year I played my first season of GSWL this past summer in yard with one game of pro. This was an amazing step up from playing around the neighborhood in both skill and intensity. I held the strike out record for pitching the majority of the year until I missed the final two weeks with an ankle injury. I also in my first game of pro threw a one hitter and hit a grand slam my first at bat of my fast pitch career. I started playing in tournaments two years ago but really got my career going last year beginning the year by making a 3 hour journey to play in Danbury, Ct. After playing in many tournaments and a full season of Golden Stick this has been an amazing experience thanks to Nick Benas, Jarred Verrillo, Lou Levesque, and many players around New England.
In two weeks Golden Stick will be holding its second annual Ultimate Wiffler tournament in Las Vegas along with the National Championship. This is a 1 on 1 tournament in which players will fly in from around the country to compete for the crown of Ultimate Wiffler. So this year I hope to conclude my rookie season by attending this years and the first Yard style (speed restricted) Ultimate Wiffler, but with the economy and being only 15 years of age my best bet would be a sponsorship. So please, wifflers and others fans of the great sport grant me the chance to make the journey to Sin City and compete with the best to finish my rookie season in GSWL.

Ahhhh Vegas, the Mecca of gambling, washed-up performers, whores and… Wiffleball? Yeah that’s right I said Wiffleball. I think the last thing that would ever come most people’s minds when someone mentions Sin City is the great sport of Wiffleball. That is until this year when the Wiffle ambassador, GSWL’s Lou Levesque started thinking about where his mark on the national Wffle world would start to be made. When you think about it, is there a more logical venue for the great players in the sport to come together for a weekend of Wiffle debauchery?… probably not. After all, the age group that greatly dominates the game is known as the “Spike TV” generation. This is the generation that made the World Series of Poker national television fodder. Levesque knew that there was no other place but Vegas to make it all happen.
